In 2011, SolARE was contacted to assist a Senegalese-based company called Architecture et Aménagement Durable (AAD – www.aad.sn) in the implementation of a unique sustainable urban project declared as being of public interest in partnership with the Senegalese local communities. Starting from the fact of an increasing unplanned urbanization and a growing inequality in the distribution of wealth in the area of the project, the objective of SolARE’s involvement aims at supporting the creation of sustainable rent and activities through the construction of 350 luxury villas with a wide array of amenities, a hotel area, a clubhouse and social housing. Additionally, the site will also house a state of the art Management and Training Institute aiming to support the creation of job opportunities, SMEs, good management and sustainable practices. The condominium plan will be transferred to the trained local communities after a period of 10 years: (www.collines-de-guereo.com)
